Old porcelain shards from the Ming and Qing dynasties

Old porcelain shards from the Ming and Qing dynasties, some of which were broken during the process of trade and transportation, or some of which were old heirlooms from ordinary people’s homes…, have been worn out over the years and have lost their former integrity.

When these dusty porcelain pieces reappeared in the world, they were full of cracks and incompleteness, but they still retained the heavy breath of history. The old masters in Jingdezhen polished them carefully with exquisite craftsmanship with awe. They knew that each piece of porcelain was an irreplaceable cultural code. During the restoration process, they carefully preserved the original texture, glaze color and traces of time on the porcelain pieces.

After ingenious transformation, these old porcelain pieces have been reborn and are used as coasters, tea trays, lids, pot holders, etc. When we use them to hold tea sets, what our fingertips touch is not only the cold porcelain pieces, but also the echoes of hundreds of years of history. Those incomplete glazes and tiny cracks are no longer flaws, but unique marks that tell of the glory of the past.

They are echoes of history, beautiful even if imperfect.
